Can I just say that I love the way Sera looks now. It’s so subtly different, but she looks so much more like a girl now, I just feel much more of a connection with her.
Love the storyline. Will enjoy very much if it gets printed so I can read it “properly”. I’m just a sucker for paper in my hands.
Thank you! You have crammed a humungous gob of story in one panel, and I must admit, it’s very refreshing to see Tess speechless for once. Sera has matured immensely in this first volley; will Tess follow suit? There are bits of seat in my fingernails…
I’ve been reading Serenity Rose since I was thirteen and it’s been pretty nifty to sort of grow up with Sera. She really has matured a lot since I first started reading all those years ago. 🙂 Way to go, Aaron.
Oh god, Tess is going to kill someone. That is the only possible recourse now.
By the way, the art in this page is really clean and pretty. I’ve always liked your artwork, but this kinda pushes it to a new level.
Sera has a strange way of dropping verbal atom-bombs when they’re least expected and has such profound reasoning behind her otherwise apparent childish actions (or, more commonly, lack-there-of)
spectacular writing Mr A and thankyou for gifting the world with Serenity Rose comics
From experience, being told you are part of a town that somebody hates and for that reason you yourself are considered something to leave behind with that town… even if that consideration was only temporary…. that hurts like hell, unintentional it may be. It’s not like Tess has been a fountain of maturity this whole time either, but man.
saartha: of *course* she will! And *that* is why Sera holds the ultimate trump card here: there is supernatural ass out there that desperately needs to be kicked. How could Tess resist that? 😀
AHAHAHA! I love that fight scene! XDD
I can just imagine them going at it like that!
It took a TON of courage on Sera’s part to talk to tess about that stuff…
I know how very difficult it can be to tie loose ends like that and face conflict, sometimes…
I wonder how Tess will react……she definitely doesn’t appear angry anymore XD
squeek: (and over a video game no less! pretty classic, i agree.)
these two pages are kinda making me wonder if Sera *can* function without her support network….. primarily meaning Tess of course. they *need* each other more than they really even seem to know. which begs the question: is it possible that Sera might maybe bring Tess along to England? Tess would be all over it, V would probably be agreeable as long as Tess “promises” not to interfere when they’re working (like that’ll happen!), and story-wise it makes the transition much smoother too. & somehow that makes lots of long-distance phone calls w/ Kelton seem likelier too! we’ll see….. (except for Aaron and Gofflin, who already know, damn them;) )
oh, almost forgot….. PAGE 60!!!!! WOOOOO!!!! 60 TO GO!!!!!!
and farewell to mr. Levi, sorry it didn’t work out, but thanks for trying anyway! 🙂
Hmmmmm… well, I DO agree it takes a ton of courage to get all that personal, especially for Sera who has more skeletons (real or otherwise :P) in her closet that many, still…
Saying “Sorry, hun, you’re part of this town/past/group of friends/whatever I hate” is not nice. Consider this: you keep by the side of someone, support him/her, all that stuff, and you get that for an answer, eventually. I don’t know, to me feels like saying “Gee, thank you so very much for piling me up with the rest of geezers here in spite of all my best efforts to NOT act towards you like they do, it gets me all happy inside knowing that all my efforts have been, basically, in vain. That’s so very nice of you”.
I’d say Sera is handling the whole “loose ends” matter quite poorly.
i think her point there was something along the lines of “that’s why i’ve been avoiding you, despite all the warm fuzzy stuff i just said, but i’ve been totally wrong to think that way”. at least that’s what I heard, between the lines. i mean, after like two big bubbles of “you’re the only one who ever made me feel normal”, that little admission of a negative thought sort of carries a default “boy, that was sure dumb of me, wasn’t it?”
although i’d agree a lot of people do miss things like that, even when they’re obvious. but Tess knows Sera too well to misunderstand it.
F*ck off you goddamn paparazzi people, leave Sera alone! God it’s a good thing she’s leaving…but i’m sad she’ll be leaving Tess. I love the way Sera speaks. i do kinda miss her strange chibi sorta look, but she does appear more pretty and grown up and stuff in this one.
nothing is better than Serenity Rose, i like how instead of flying away from the damn paparazzi people. she stayed to say what she wanted to to Tess.
Well, I was just pointing that that last sentence was bit like sticking a knife in Tess’ gut, buuuuuuuuuuut after all friends do know that sometimes you’ve got to let things slide, don’t you?
good to see you back, Levi! I think what you’re saying is that Sera might be speaking poorly because she simply isn’t very good at speaking; if that’s what you mean, i agree. she lives a very isolated life, so she has few chances to practice. it’s probably even harder because her life has changed so much. But I think Tess knows her well enough, to understand what Sera really means to say.
btw, if you’re not sure about your English, i think it would probably be okay to write it in Spanish too. Several people here can translate, especially if you try to use easy Spanish! 🙂
I’ve read the first book and have read up to now this second part and I have really enjoyed it. I can’t believe that Sera is so intent on leaving Crestfallen. It makes me kind of sad, but the entire time I’ve just been wondering about that other witch who keeps attacking her. It’s suprising but I can’t tell if Tess is angry or speechless or maybe both and I definetly like that there’s color on this even if it’s just the hair it really gives the characters a personality.
(BTW: I can translate spanish ^.^)
Oh man! This makes me think of Tess and Sera as a couple! It took so much courage to say that and you can tell Sera really cares about Tess! I kinda wish they’d get together, but when I think that, I keep thinking about how Tess had a boyfriend and know it probably won’t happen. Still!
Can I just say that I love the way Sera looks now. It’s so subtly different, but she looks so much more like a girl now, I just feel much more of a connection with her.

awwww, I really like how there are little pictures in the word balloon
Oh god, Tess is going to kill someone. That is the only possible recourse now.

Ahaha they are still taking photos.
Is Tess gonna yell now? That looks like a precursor-to-yelling face.
(Though perhaps with Tess any face can be counted as such…)
I don’t know. I would want to yell at Sera, I think. But in a nice way. She’s been dumb, but that’s what friends are for, to be dumb at each other.
Your art is amazing, Mr A. I keep thinking logically at some point I should stop being amazed at every single new page, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Are we really halfway? Oh man.
saartha: of *course* she will! And *that* is why Sera holds the ultimate trump card here: there is supernatural ass out there that desperately needs to be kicked. How could Tess resist that? 😀
Win.
Wow… Tess is *speechless*… … …
“Wow… Tess is *speechless*… … …”
yeah….. kinda makes one wonder if *anyone* has ever said anything so kind to her. could possibly explain her general hostility anyway.
this is why Sera and Tess *need* each other. Otherwise it’s like Teller without Penn, or something.
Beautifully done. 🙂
Mmm, I like the way Sera’s hair looks almost entirely blue in these last few pages.
BEST.
PAGE.
EVER.
i really agree with what phd_grrl, say Thallie about the progression of the work, the growth, and all. – and sera’s maturity.
i feel like Tess is about to endure the 13degrees and give sera a big hug. (very unTesslike, i know…)- but hey.
AHAHAHA! I love that fight scene! XDD
I can just imagine them going at it like that!

She’s going to leave Tess behind?! Wow, she really doesn’t seem intent on fixing things with her… I’m kinda mad at Sera now.
Aww poor Tess

…or at least I hope so.
this is all very toughing but …what does those green monsters earlier have anything to do with the plot?
she’s gotta get Tess back on her side so they can team up and waste the monsters! c’mon, basic narrative structure, jeez…. 😉
oh, and Tess *will* be going to V’s with Sera. i just know so there. Kelton might swing by for some bass lessons too. 😉
My internet went out so I replaced eighty feet of cable trenching and burying fourty feet just so I could get my Serenity Rose fix!
me apparently she makes to me a bilge that sera does not have the aptitude to recognize who is his poor tess
(sera it does not know what does) is sad
well i dont care but is not my *ucking problem and is unplaestand look
That sera has changed and that gets angry with tess °_=
buh bye and remember viva sera and evil times atte:levi THEManiac

I can too, as long as he doesn’t go on another rampage…
