I imagine it as a singing bark-snake.
… I know invasive species are bad, but I hope the singing bark-snake reproduces madly all over the northwest. Because, you know. Awesome.
Ah, but the singing bark-snake could survive on photosynthesis alone, thus having minimal impact on the environment. They’d sort of be like little slithering trees. Also, I want one.
But bark doesn’t photosynthesize… and snakes don’t have limbs, so what’s our leaf-analogue here?
Answer: it’s magic! still awesome! — and yes I want one too, if you (somehow) couldn’t tell. 🙂
I love the open structure of this page… feels relaxed but full of possibility. Also quite like the sort-of-panelization within the panels; it took me an extra minute to parse, but it’s a neat way to arrange the flow of information. (Neat as in “tidy, simple, elegant” and also “cool”)
This is such a long monologue! It’s wonderful that Sera’s so engaged with her studies and pursuits and so un-self-conscious talking about herself (even if most of it is mirrored through commentary on Vicious). I feel like we’re getting back to the framing idea of Serenity writing a journal.
reptiles of the pacific northwest
Love that image of sera on the bridge, very subtile in details but really clear. Sort of Bill watterson-ish.
Bill Watterson is lovely. His drawings always feel like being a kid in summer. ^-^ Yeah, I like this page. It’s sketchy and sort of low-key feeling.
She made a snake-tree-flute conjure!

Damn, complete biology fail. Still, where there’s a will there’s a way. WHISTLING BARK SNAKES FOR ALL!
Gotta love a teacher who tells you to devour the world.
This page was quite inspiring actually; beautiful, too.
I would love to have V as a teacher… with all her wonderful WISDOM.
It’s not a glockenspiel, but I’d like to think even Herr Mozart would be proud.
