Page 19 says the original coven left in Jan 1857 so that would make sense as to why the clock stopped. But as to why it has started again? Could it be that because of the fight with Stilleta, Sera has now, for the first time, become a “fully realized” witch. And the clock/town senses this. Also she did say to Valentine “get out of MY town”…………….
Exactly my point. The town may have some form of sentinence in regards to who owns, and since a Witch has just claimed it as her own, the clock is apparently a sign of this new ownership.
A bit like how a person makes home personality to it, but with an extra dose of quirkness to it.
The mine is in South America that can’t be it.
I’m gonna go with the reincarnation hunt theory, too.

And instead of one of the original coven reincarnating into that body, it could just be that that child, with it’s own unique soul, gets witchy powers. I mean blue hair and multiple ear rings aside, could you see Sera in the 1700’s???

Valentine’s remark last panel about having to die in a small cave was not just snide but inacurate. Blondie could have let herself be captured after all captivity or not she’d have still been alive. Thus dying was not neccesary.

Hate to nitpick, but I don’t believe you can tell fraternal twins by their DNA. Fraternal twins come from separate fertilized eggs so their DNA is as different as any siblings’. (I love the detail of their being twins, though….)
