Well, I don’t know why, but I think this can end nice. With Sera being happy and maybe even with Maddy. Maybe “Break your stupid heart” will actually end without Sera with a broken heart. I really hope so. Sera deserves a nice ending.
I actually agree with you, but this is still… There is absolutely no way this will end “well”. Just “well enough”. It sucks that Maddy had to take things that far before her conscience got the better of her.
The dream-things there are saying things that are hurtful to Sera, and among them is dream-Maddy saying “you never do anything”. Sera’s just had that version of Maddy confirmed. Things are about to get ugly… Here’s hoping for a reconciliation, but… The damage has been done, at least on one side. Whether that damage leads to healing or not… *shrug*
The damage is done and now it’s up to Sera if she’ll let it overwhelm her or not. Sadly enough, I think this is good for her. Get Maddy out of her system. There was never really a chance for the two of them and she needed to realize that once and for all. Now she can heal, get over it and move on. It sucks but broken hearts are something EVERYONE deals with. Otherworldly powers or not….
“Bragging rights” are always good 😉 Piles of cash work nicely too…
Does anyone remember? It seems to ring a bell.
Also: Maddy has freakishly long pinky fingers… er, pinky finger singular. That’s how I noticed in the first place.
You may have to move her left middle finger a bit: to me her earring now looks like a “phantom finger” or a cartoon-style invisible one. Make the earring narrower? That’d work too.

Yes, I think most people can agree that Clippy should die!
I know, we’ll throw HIM between Maddy & Sera and the monsters. Let them chew on HIM. At the very least it’ll take the monsters a good 30 very looong seconds to get Clippy to actually *leave* and give our two young ladies a chance to flee.
oh, look: Sera’s started hissing again. in the past, that’s never been a good thing…
I have to go back to one of AA-san’s original “mission statements” (Sera’s introduction in Working Through The Negativity): “I’m more interested in ‘Extraordinary people in Everyday circumstances’. Call me a rebel.” (i’ll take that dare! “You’re a *Rebel*, AA-san! I look at you, and I hear Bowie singing, “Rebel-Rebel”! Are-Ee-Bee-Ee-El, REBEL!!”)
*ahem*
anyway, Tricia (see above comment) is absolutely right: EVERYONE (extraordinary or not) has their heart broken at one time or another. it’s never easy. but one can (and should) get over it and move on (of course, what the means is up to the individual). Sera has come a long, long way since “The Bus Incident”. she’s Ssssss-ing now, but I believe she’ll work though *this* negativity, too.
even if “Dear Diaries” are stoopit. (^.^)
we’re all rooting for you, Sera.
and, I suspect, a more than a few of us are rooting for *you*, too, Maddy.
I (respectfully) disagree, that’s not Sera hissing – in the second panel, it’s clearly coming from the monsters above, and in the next Sera’s trying to block the noise by covering her ears, as it tries to push its way into her head.
Of course, at a fundamental level, the monsters are hissing because that’s what her subconscious is telling them to do, but… well, there’s a reason it’s called a “sub” conscious, most people can keep it down.
i stand corrected — I think you’re right: in panel 1 it’s clearly the ecto-sters hissing. in panel 2? I think that’s more Sera hearing the Ecto-sters (aka, the voices of her past) hissing. so I don’t think she’s at the same state of fuggitol that she was when the SSI came to visit her lo those many years ago.
oh. and, let’s remember— the SSI shooting up her home was about as low as Sera ever got…but she never killed any of them. Maddy might be in danger, but i don’t think “death at Sera’s witchy hands” is on the horizon.
All I can think of is that stupid commercial from many years ago “It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature” or in this case an emotional, but fundamentally very nice, witch. I think it all will come out all right.
I’m sure the “break your stupid heart” line will be Tess’s along with a “what did you expect” kind of retort.
I agree, this reminds me of the flashback a bit ago. This is Sera finally having to overcome all of her troubles in the past to move into the future, only in her case it’s a lot more literal.
Oh, look. The fecal matter has encountered the rotating air circulation device. 🙁 I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this.
haha clever 😀 Had to read that twice to get it right.

Yeah… Maddy should really have left about 10 seconds ago…
I disagree. This needs to be resolved, and I don’t think Maddy’s in any real danger.

Or maybe someone’s heart will be literally broken, like in half, like reach into their ribcage and rip their heart in half…

:EEK!:
The bottom panel looks like Sera is making monster noises too! But really she’s curled up into a ball and covering her ears tightly…
I predict: Sera will stand up to her monsters and save Maddy this time! Hooray!
AA: Un-oh! What’s that I see in panel 2 on Maddy’s left hand? (Eyes close up) 1,2,3… 4 fingers? (And a thumb presumably)…
I saved it on my PC before it gets corrected 😀 Do I win a prize?

Thanks for catching that, 5!
I think I DID offer a prize, didn’t I? Or was that for the earrings? I CANNOT REMEMBER.

Maddy, Maddy, Maddy…
Didn’t they teach you anything?
Never piss off a witch in the middle of her cave of horrors.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But really, it still looks to me like Sera’s sobbing. And now, her monsters are restless because of it. They’ve been known to do damage before.
It’s going to be interesting…
My last comment would have looked so much better if the `pre` tag was enabled.
it matters not, MrHacks: your comment is absolutely *Brilliant*!! \(^.^)/
Heart Shaped Skull: The Text Adventure Game!
I’d buy that for a dollar!
Thanks for the lolz @MrHacks.
Not sure about Sera, though…
And there’s the rabid dog baring its fangs.
Oh no, I am not sure this will end well.
I think Sera’s about to have to destroy all the accidental conjurings of her childhood in order to stop them from killing Maddie.
A hell of a way to bid childhood goodbye, but it’s necessary to bid childhood goodbye eventually.
