They are indeed. Their irrationality is fascinating from the outside, but utterly maddeningly frustrating when dealt with directly.
I can’t help but think Maddy is interested in her for professional reasons rather than romantic ones. I hope I am wrong and Maddy isn’t planning on using her. I want some happiness for our little Sera. Darn my pessimistic hopefulness.
of course the title of this story is “Break your stupid heart” so one can’t help but be pessimistic. I hope Sera realizes that you can’t find/get happiness through others or external things. You have to find it inside yourself or make it for yourself.
Wait– but if witches can, as shown by Vicious’s concert, morph their clothing (also exemplified by Sera’s “poof” wardrobe change earlier a few pages back), then isn’t the framed shredded t-shirt a huge chunk of Sera’s ectoplasmic skin?

oops, too much philosophizing
Return of the pupil faces! I’ve always loved those things.
I just noticed, Sera has that shirt from her fight with Stilletta framed on the wall in panel six, I’m amazed she kept the thing.
Perhaps it serves as a reminder of her victory, She needs all the positive reminders of her awesomeness she can get.
Or maybe it’s a way for her to mourn the death of a really good shirt? 1+ for a really observative Allison. 🙂
